WIT TRAINING | Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be "funny" to take a class?
- Good lord no. If you have a great sense of humor already, that's awesome; our program is definitely for you. But the classes are about finding the humor in yourself and in the world around you. The only prerequisites are that you have an open mind and a desire to have more fun in your life.

How much does each class cost?
- Regular tuition for a standard WIT class is $240. There is usually an Early Registration discount of $20, available if you register before the early registration deadline (two weeks before the first class of a session).

When do classes meet and how long do they last?
- WIT's classes meet for two and a half hours once a week for 8 weeks (20 hours). Weekend classes meet for three hours once a week for 7 weeks (21 hours). To find out when your class meets, return to the registration page and click "browse listings" to view the current class schedule.

Where do they meet?
- WIT's Training Program holds classes at the Children's Studio School at 1301 V St NW, on the corner of 13th and V Street NW. The school is located one block north of the U Street - Cardozo Metro Station (13th Street Exit), and the main entrance is on V Street. A map of the area can be found here. For a few classes, WIT may use other near-by facilities.

Will there be a showcase?
- Yes! There is a free showcase at the end of each term that will be OPTIONAL for all students who wish to participate in it.

What should I bring with me?
- Please come dressed in comfortable clothes. No other materials are necessary for the first class. Teachers will contact their individual classes should students need to bring any materials with them.

Attendance Policy
- Because classes depend on group work, and each class session builds on the previous session's material, it is important that all students attend all class sessions. Students should not enroll in a class if they expect to miss more than two of the eight class sessions. Class sessions are not interchangeable. Students who miss more than two class sessions of any class must re-take that class before advancing to higher levels. Students who miss more than three class sessions may be dropped from the class at the instructor's discretion; no refund will be issued.
- If WIT must cancel a course you will be notified immediately and a full refund will be issued. If a single class must be canceled you will receive full credit for that class and a make-up class will be scheduled.
- If you must cancel your attendance in a class, give WIT 72 hours notice prior to the first meeting for a refund. The $50 deposit is non-refundable.
