WIT has broken brave new ground in Washington with the premiere of DC's Neutrino Video Project at the District of
Columbia Arts Center. Check out the trailer!
The NVP is a completely improvised movie- shot, scored, edited and screened in the amount of time it takes for you to sit there and
watch it. Washington Improv Theater takes to the streets of Adams Morgan with three cameras and a full-size crew to create an totally
unique video experience based on your input.
The show begins with a suggestion from the audience; once that input is given, all of the cast and crew except for two actors leave
DCAC and begin shooting short scenes live outside the theater. While theseng scenes are being shot, the remaining two actors
gather more inputs and explain the show. When the first scene is finished, the tape is run back into the theater and screened on
arrival. DC's Neutrino Video Project begins...
Video switching and audio mixing is all done live in the theater in real time. While the audience is watching what has already been
shot, the actors are outside finishing the movie. Scenes are returned one tape at a time- the end result is a seamless film which
lasts about 30 minutes.
Entertaining? Certainly. Potentially disastrous? Without a doubt.
The Neutrino Video Project was conceived and created by Neutrino of New York City. Other
fan-favorite incarnations include the Neutrino Project at the WNEP Theater in Chicago, and the Seattle Neutrino Project
at the Market Theater in Seattle. WIT is proud to bring the NVP to Washington, DC through a special arrangement with Neutrino of
New York.
