Our Mission: Washington Improv Theater (WIT) is dedicated to advancing spontaneous theater as an art form that unleashes creative genius, through performances and a comprehensive training program.

The revolution is catching fire. In 2004 we're raising the stakes, raising our profile, and raising the roof as well (literally). WIT continues its advance with yet MORE growth in its performances and class offerings. We continue our search for a permanent theater space to call WIT's. And we're cooking up new maneuvers all the time.

Every move we make relies on the smoothly synchronized actions of a vast team of operatives at every strata of society in Washington and beyond. WIT Operatives assist in stage and box office management, marketing and community outreach, press relations, accounting, program logistics, film production and coordination, and other enterprises as they arise.

Want to help WIT in its mission? Can you commit your energy to helping advance D.C.'s most engaging, spontaneous theater company? Let us know what skills you can bring to WIT and what you'd be willing to try. We will make every effort to use your talents, and maybe help you develop new ones.

What does the revolution offer? The heartfelt gratitude and camaraderie of everyone in WIT. The pleasure of working with some of the sharpest and liveliest cracker-jacks in D.C. The peace of mind that History will judge you kindly, as a true trail-blazer in these trodden-down times. Tangible rewards during your tenure as an Operative are: acknowledgment on WIT's website, complimentary tickets to WIT performances, and a discount toward any WIT classes you take. If you'd like to enlist as an operative, contact WIT's Operatives Coordinator Michael Kitces at operatives.
