WIT celebrates a union of the houses of Jackie and onesixtyone.
IT'S A NICE DAY FOR A WIT WEDDING!
POSTED 10.10.07
The WIT family grew even tighter as onesixtyone's Colin Murchie and Jackie's Molly Woods tied the knot on October 8th in a ceremony at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore.
Lovingly officiated by onesixtyone alumna Katie Carson, the ceremony was the first to unite two WIT players in holy matrimony. It was also the first wedding that anyone from WIT has ever attended which featured a penguin (courtesy of the afore-mentioned zoo).
Improv has a way of bringing people together, and not just in that awkward hook-up way. Last spring, Caveat player Anne Acorn wed longtime WIT operatives coordinator Michael Blackburn after meeting a few years ago in a WIT class. Prior to that, WIT mainstage player Leah Rader found a husband in Dave Philhower, a student she taught as part of WIT's training program (quick policy clarification: just like in high school, WIT instructors are asked to wait until finishing a class before dating their students).
The groom wore a kilt and came armed with a Sgian Dubh (the Scottish dagger traditionally tucked into the sock for dressier occasions). The bride wore a beautiful dress and looked absolutely stunning. Essie the penguin wore her usual tuxedo and tried several times to escape from her trainer.
The cake was delicious.
Colin and Molly will be honeymooning in Prague before returning to their DC home. Everyone in the WIT family would like to offer their love, their best wishes and their heartfelt congratulations!
